Nancy O'Dell's professional career started in Myrtle Beach South Carolina as a news reporter and anchor at WPDE-TV. She worked later as a morning news anchor at WCBD TV and was an investigative reporter. The journalist's report on the lack of response of the police in response to DUI incidents in Charleston led to an investigation being conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division, which led to a change in directive from state authorities regarding DUI cases. It was reported that the Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell with its Best Report of the Years Award across all South Carolina Media. In the years following her stay living in Charleston, O'Dell worked as anchor for NBC's Miami Station WTVJ-TV and as an investigative reporter. After that, she joined Access Hollywood to work as the weekend and weekday correspondent. In addition to her current job as the lead anchor on Access Hollywood Ms. O'Dell is also a contributor to NBC News' Today and as well for Dateline NBC. She has covered such events including The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys and The Golden Globe Awards as in addition to hosting a series of pre-show arrivals for The Emmys and the Golden Globes. Her other co-hosting credits include the Miss USA pageant, and Miss Universe.
